Our Dumyat Centre is located on the edge of the A91 in the centre of the Hillfoots village of Menstrie, Clackmannanshire. It was built in 1990 and sits in a Council run public park used for sports and community events. It has a small children's playground and a large carpark with electric charging and bike shelters. The centre houses a reception, community lounge, library, small meeting room, large community room, kitchen, gym hall marked with two badminton courts and two sports changing rooms with separate male, female and disabled toilets. It provides the only public toilets in the area which are available to members of the public when the centre is open.
Our Dumyat Centre is accessible to all. There is flat access with no steps or ramps with automatic doors throughout and a fully integrated fixed hearing loop system in the community room, small meeting room and reception area.
The Centre is well used by the local community and wider area, being a popular venue for a wide variety of events, clubs, classes, meetings, groups and birthday parties. Details of our excellent facilities, activities on offer for all ages and bookable space can be found on this website, Facebook, Our Dumyat App and on display in the Centre.
As well as the wide variety of activities on offer, the centre is now just a great place to sit and relax, read a book, use the internet and make new friends.
The importance of the Centre operating as a warm functional space is paramount for our whole community.
The centre is used as an emergency shelter for our local community when required. MCAG (Menstrie Community Action Group) and Menstrie Resilience Group have procedures in place and are prepared for such an event.
The Centre is open limited hours which we are looking to increase. As a community run facility this is dependent on activity bookings and volunteer availability.
Check our What's On Page for details of activities.
Our Dumyat Centre is operated by MCAG, (Menstrie Community Action Group) a community charity. This dedicated team comprising of a board of trustees, a part-time centre manager, small staff team and volunteers took over from Clackmannanshire Council when the Dumyat Centre was marked for closure.
Our Dumyat Centre is a facility at the very heart of our village for our community.
Our goal as an organisation is to ensure that Menstrie is a vibrant, active community, to support community, to support the health and wellbeing of the village and improve the lives and opportunities of members in the community.
